THE UNIT ENGAGES TAIWAN HEAD OF MISSION TO STRENGTHEN FIGHT AGAINST TRANSNATIONAL FRAUD

The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi-Lagos, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, B.Sc, MILD,  held a strategic engagement with the Head of Mission Taipei Trade Office,  Andy Yih-Ping Liu which aimed at fostering collaboration in the fight against cross boarder  financial crimes.

The meeting underscores the growing need for international cooperation in addressing transnational fraud, particularly in light of Taiwan’s vibrant investment landscape, which has increasingly become a target for sophisticated fraud syndicates. Discussions focused on strengthening intelligence sharing, enhancing investigative coordination, and developing joint strategies to effectively combat financial crimes that transcend national boundaries.

Taiwan Head of Mission expressed appreciation for the initiative and reaffirmed readiness to work closely with the Unit in promoting information exchange, capacity building, and mutual support in the prevention and investigation of fraud-related offences.

Speaking during the engagement, CP Okpoziakpo emphasized the importance of global partnerships in tackling the evolving dynamics of fraud, noting that no single jurisdiction can effectively combat transnational crime in isolation. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Police Special Fraud Unit to proactive investigations and continuous collaboration with international partners to disrupt criminal networks and safeguard legitimate investments.
