
The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi-Lagos, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, B.Sc, MILD, received the Founder and Chairman of Nova Bank, Mr. Philips Oduoza, who paid a courtesy visit to the Unit as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration in the fight against fraud and other illicit financial crimes.
During the visit, Mr. Oduoza commended the efforts of the Police Special Fraud Unit in combating fraudsters within the financial ecosystem, noting that the Unit’s sustained efforts in protecting the integrity of the financial sector cannot go unnoticed. In his remarks, he called for stronger collaboration, information sharing and exchange of ideas between financial institutions and the Unit to further strengthen financial integrity in the country. He observed that crime cannot be eliminated overnight, but its impact can be effectively managed through timely reporting, speedy intervention and coordinated responses among relevant stakeholders.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, with his Members of Management Team, appreciated Mr. Oduoza for the visit and for reaffirming Nova Bank’s commitment to partnering with the Police Special Fraud Unit in the collective effort to prevent and combat financial crimes as the Unit reaffirms its readiness to sustain meaningful partnerships with financial institutions and other stakeholders towards strengthening the fight against fraud and safeguarding Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.
